After a night resting and recovering from our journey the previous day, we had a fairly late start to our journey to Jasper, which is in Alberta. Our trip from Vancouver to Kamloops had been done through British Columbia. British Columbia’s scenery had been amazing, so Alberta had a lot to live up to.
On the way, we decided to go through Clearwater and visit the Spahats Falls. There are a lot of waterfalls in Canada, and believe me, visiting them NEVER gets old. It was a reasonably easy walk to these falls (believe me, the walk we were going to do tomorrow, unbeknownst to ourselves, was going to be much harder.) It was also a beautiful walk … we think we found Little Red Riding Hood’s path to Grandma’s house. There are two tiers to these Falls and together this makes the Falls 75-80 metres tall. At this stage we were still in British Columbia.
Because of the late start, this was the only thing we did on the way to Jasper and arrived at our accommodation, Lobstick Lodge, and settled into our rooms and then into the lounge at the Lodge where we discussed the next day’s activities over something to eat and a few beverages (surprising, I know). We were now in Alberta and hoped the sightseeing planned for the next day would measure up to what we had seen in British Columbia.
