Thanks to Spoke Wayne’s beautiful organising we were picked up from our Victoria Worldmark accommodation and whisked away in a black Mercedes Sprinter (10 seater) to another ferry for the trip across to mainland Canada. Huge ferry … three decks of cars and semis and buses and decks with eating facilities, lounges etc. Approx 90-minute trip and we continued in our Mercedes Sprinter through to Whistler. This was a good couple of hours stretch, through the city of Vancouver and on. I love the trees over here - firs, spruce, evergreens etc. (I think I may have said that before). Saw some lovely little swimming areas on the way (the weather was very hot, but somehow I think the water would have been cold).
Finally arrived in Whistler, unpacked our Mercedes, farewelled Bob (the driver) and checked into the Worldmark Cascade Lodge. We then took a walk around a very crowded Whistler town. Apparently there is some sort of mountain bike competition going on and there are bikes and people everywhere. It is very hot - 30+degrees and the same forecast for tomorrow. Two female and three male spokes went for a walk to Lost Lake, but Spoke Bernadette and the hub had a restful time in the room.
Tomorrow promises to be an action packed day, so stay tuned for further exciting adventures.
